    Return distance 10750km at 210 gm CO2 per km
    (Leeds/Bradford to New York and back)

George Monbiot says : "London to New York, every passenger produces roughly 1.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide: the very quantity we will each be entitled to emit in a year once the necessary cut in emissions has been made."

So a return flight is 2.4 tonnes, which is pretty close to this figure.
